Everyone experiences this – you are bored with your usual exercise routine. It just doesn’t interest you anymore. So why not try something new? Lately I’ve tried hula hooping, kayaking and Pilates. All fun, new activities for me. I had to think about what I was doing in order to master (or at least start to learn!) the unfamiliar movements, and I had lots of opportunities to laugh – like when I finally figured out how to keep the hoop going around more than a couple of times (it isn’t intuitive for everyone!) and when I had a totally unexpected “wet exit” from the kayak when I was supposed to be assisting someone else get back into hers!
There’s never a better time to try a new sport or activity than the good old summer time, so why not go for it? The possibilities go on and on: swimming, biking, running, walking, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, yoga, Pilates, Zumba…
I think you get the idea, so get on out there and do it!

So true Amy! I was a terrible hula hooper the first time and now I just love it. My biggest hurdle is getting over the fear of people watching me fail. The older I get, the easier it is to ignore this silly fear. Thanks for the great reminder to keep life interesting and try new things!
